A child’s first haircut is a memorable milestone, and the occasion is no different for the gray wolf, a rock art formation incorporated into the Dunlevie Garden at the new Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford opening in December 2017. Recently the wolf received a trim for the very first time.
Hidden within the landscape, the gray wolf is one of many animals showcased on the new hospital property that are representative of the California ecosystem. Desert dinosaurs, a banana slug, and three bear cubs are just some of the animals converging at a central meeting place.
Created by concept designer, Michael Green, the wolf rock formation won’t be missed by astute children exploring the more than 3.5 acre expanse of green space and gardens that are designed to reflect the unique beauty of Northern California.
