The Safe + Fair Food Company announces support for allergy and asthma research

Earlier this year, The Safe + Fair Food Company announced its selection of the Sean N. Parker Center for Allergy and Asthma Research at Stanford University as its primary charitable beneficiary. With the launch of The Safe + Fair Food Company’s online site this September, families will be able to enjoy safe, fairly priced, and delicious meals, desserts, and snacks while supporting the critical research conducted by Kari Nadeau, MD, PhD, and her team at the Sean N. Parker Center.

Founded in 2017 by friends Dave Leyrer and Pete Najarian, Safe + Fair will donate 3 percent of all proceeds to the Sean N. Parker Center. The company’s generous support will help fund the center’s mission to transform the lives of patients and families through innovative science and compassionate care. As the Naddisy Foundation Professor of Pediatric Food Allergy, Immunology, and Asthma at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and the center’s director, Nadeau leads a team dedicated to not only finding better treatments for children and adults with allergies and asthma, but to also discovering underlying mechanisms and developing lasting cures.

According to the Sean N. Parker Center, the number of children and adults with food allergies doubles about every 10 years, and recent estimates show that one in 12 American children and one in 20 American adults has a doctor-diagnosed food allergy, making a lifestyle free from food allergens a critical concern for millions of families.

Safe + Fair maintains high production standards to help keep affected individuals safe from potentially life-threatening allergens, and provides wholesome, delicious options that the entire family and their friends can enjoy. Safe + Fair’s products are named after the children of the company’s founders and chairman and will include Abby’s Cookies, Remy’s Grahams, Gavin’s Granola, and Gavin’s Cereal to start.  Additionally the Good to Give line of products will consist of easy meals and staples such as bars, brownie mix, cake and cupcake mix, granola, mac and cheese, pancake and waffle mix, and trail mix.

“We share the Sean N. Parker Center’s mission to improve the lives of people with food allergies and those around them,” explains Safe + Fair CEO Will Holsworth. “We are so proud to support the center’s work, and through our products, hope to prove that people with food allergies—and those who live, work, and go to school with them—can enjoy delicious, affordable, safe food.”
