Jewel Ball

This glittering black-tie gala—with cocktails, seated dinner, live and silent auctions, and dancing into the wee hours—is one of San Francisco’s longest-running charity events and benefits our hospital and patients. The 2016 Jewel Ball was held on November 5 at the Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco which was the 64th annual gala presented by the San Francisco Auxiliary. The gala is always held on the first Saturday of November.

American Girl Doll Fashion Shows and Teas, hosted by the Palo Alto Auxiliary, are fun-filled events for girls and their families, friends, and favorite dolls.

Rummage Sales

These popular sales occur the first and third weekend of each month from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., with the exception of December (when the sale is the first weekend). The sales are put on by the Charter Auxiliary at their new business location at 807 E. Bayshore Road, East Palo Alto.  They have a large selection of collectibles, silver, art, china, jewelry, toys, linens, lotions, kitchen items, fabric and clothing for the entire family.  Donations are accepted on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the same location.

Restaurants with Heart

Gather your friends and family to participate in Palo Alto Auxiliary’s monthly fundraisers, Restaurants with Heart. These events at local eateries offer 3-course lunches for $24 per person and 3-course dinners for $35 per person (includes tax and gratuity). Half of each meal price (less gratuity) is donated to our hospital.

San Mateo-Burlingame Auxiliary Game Day

Every June, the San Mateo-Burlingame Auxiliary hosts Game Day, which includes bridge, mahjong, dominoes, and other games, a festive lunch, and a prize drawing.

Best of the Box

The San Jose Auxiliary—founded in 1942 to benefit the Stanford Convalescent Home for Children—operates the Thrift Box in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood to support our patients and their families.  The beloved Pumpkin Patch Boutique event has been retired.  Now the Auxiliary’s most popular events are the Best of the Box sales held in May and September, featuring the best China, Crystal, Silver, Linens, Collectibles, Boutique, Books, Purses, Jewelry, Toys, Designer Clothes, Dolls and Art.  Two days of fun and shopping, the Best of the Box bolsters the Auxiliary’s annual contribution to the hospital, and as with the Thrift Box proceeds, all profits from this event go directly to fund uncompensated and under-compensated care at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford.
