Bringing the Halloween Spirit to Patients

To help make hospital visits and stays less scary, Spirit Halloween’s Spirit of Children campaign raises money in-store and online to support Child Life Departments at hospitals across the United States and Canada.

Since 2007, Spirit Halloween has generously given more than $635,000 to the Child Life and Creative Arts Department at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Shoppers at select Spirit locations in the Bay Area and online receive 10 percent off their purchase through the month of October and Spirit donates 10 percent back to Packard Children’s.

Donations help throughout the year to provide care and guidance to families through developmentally-appropriate education, preparation, support, and therapeutic play to minimize the stress associated with a hospital stay. Spirit of Children also brings a special Halloween party to the hospital every year with decorations, games, arts and crafts, and costume donations.

Thanks to donors like Spirit Halloween, we can incorporate the fun and joy of play into every patient’s experience at Packard Children’s.
