Last year, more than 130 Champions for Children raised more than $536,000 to give our patients and their families more hope for healthy futures. Here are a few of those wonderful Champions:

California Sports Center Cartwheel-a-thon
In celebration of National Gymnastics Day last September, California Sports Center organized its annual Cartwheel-a-thon. Gymnasts from each of the seven Bay Area locations asked friends and family to pledge a donation per cartwheel. Together, the gymnasts completed a total of 53,773 cartwheels and raised more than $25,500!

Healing Humanity Club at Oakwood School
After attending a month-long biomedical lecture series at Stanford, Roxanne and Talia, students at Oakwood School in Morgan Hill, were inspired to start the Healing Humanity Club. The club’s purpose is to educate the student body about children’s health and support our hospital. So far Oakwood students have made more than 40 gift bags for our patients and have raised more than $2,200 by organizing a coin drive and volunteering to manage the concession stands during school events.
