What is the employee gving campaign?
Packard Children’s is a nonprofit hospital. Seven years ago, the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health (the philanthropic arm of Packard Children’s and the Department of Pediatrics) started an employee giving campaign to offer employees and faculty a way to support our patients and child health research programs.
If you have participated in the employee giving campaign, thank you for your continued support. When those of us closest to the hospital and department show our pride and dedication by making a financial gift, it demonstrates to individuals and organizations in our community that Packard Children’s is worthy of their support, too.
When is this year's campaign?
This is a very exciting year and a new chapter in our Hospital’s history. As we open the doors to the new expansion, we increase our ability to serve that many more patients in our community. While we typically celebrate the employee giving campaign in the fall, to respect your time during this transition, we will instead offer ways to get involved and make a donation throughout the year. From a Halloween Fundraiser or year-end donations during the holiday season, to Valentine’s Day giving and Summer Scamper, we can’t wait to see how you decide to give! We encourage every employee and faculty member to make a personal contribution. Philanthropy touches nearly every patient in one way or another. Your donation—of any amount—will make a difference for the children and families you care so deeply about. For the hundreds of employees who participate, the employee giving campaign serves as a wonderful source of pride.
I already give so much, why should I contribute financially?
When those of us closest to the hospital and department show our pride and dedication by making a financial gift, it demonstrates to families and organizations in our community that Packard Children’s is worthy of their support, too.
Many of the programs and services that impact our patients’ experience are only made available because of donor support. While the sacrifices you make to our hospital are beyond measure, we are a nonprofit hospital and rely on the financial support of donors to remain a vital resource and provide the extraordinary care we are known for. Making a donation – of any amount – is just one more powerful way you can give our patients and families a little more hope and support.
One hundred percent of gifts donated to our hospital directly support care for thousands of our patients each year, as well as groundbreaking research into tomorrow’s cures. Last year, more than 14,000 donors supported Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and the child health programs at Stanford University School of Medicine. From coins from an elementary school’s penny drive, to support from local businesses, every dollar makes a difference to our patients.
Many organizations ask for my support, why should I donate to our hospital?
Making a voluntary philanthropic gift shows that extraordinary care truly does start with you and is another way to strengthen the hospital.
Giving back to our hospital sends a powerful statement to your colleagues and our community. Corporations, foundations, and individuals consider our faculty and employee participation rate when prioritizing their philanthropic passions and deciding to award Packard Children’s and the Department of Pediatrics with funding.
We rely on the generosity of our community so that we may continue to provide outstanding pediatric and obstetric care. Each year, contributions from thousands of individuals support everything from child life programs, to innovations in patient care, to research grants that are not part of our hospital’s operating budget. Join the community and your fellow colleagues in supporting our hospital today.
I participated in the 2016 employee giving campaign. Was the 2016 campaign successful?
YES! The 2016 employee giving campaign one of our most successful campaigns yet! Last year more employees and physicians made a donation to support the hospital than in the previous two years, and the amount donated was more than the previous four years! Thank you!
Is participation in the employee giving campaign mandatory?
No. Financial contributions are completely voluntary.
Does my giving have any influence on my performance review?
No. Giving has no influence on any performance evaluation.
